Pet Food Aid Program
Dakin Humane Society’s Pet Food Aid program has been in place for more than 15 years to ensure that people have a place to turn when their dogs and cats need food. Now, as we’re navigating this uncertain and difficult time, more and more people are facing financial hardship and food insecurity due to the effect of COVID-19 as well other financial challenges.
Dakin’s Pet Food Aid Program has dog and cat food which is available to people who are struggling to feed their beloved pets. Dakin’s mission is to keep people and pets together, and our Pet Food Aid Program is here for you!
If you are in need of food for your dogs or cats, please do the following:
- Visit Dakin at 171 Union Street in Springfield Monday through Sunday between the hours of 12:30 pm and 5 pm to collect your pet food. Wait times may be extended and your desired food type may not be available, but we will do our best to help you.
- Please do not call Dakin as we are operating on limited staff for essential services only.
- When you enter Dakin’s parking lot, follow the posted instructions. Bring a cell phone with you, as you will need to call the designated phone number to get assistance. The food will be delivered to your car by Dakin staff members, who will maintain the recommended social distancing space
The food will be distributed on a first come, first served basis and is available while supplies last. The amount of food you receive should feed your pet for a month. Thank you for your cooperation.
